Counterbalance & Reach

We deliver training on both Counterbalance and Reach type lift trucks, with accreditation from NPORS or AITT.

Counterbalance Fork Lift Truck (FLT) and Reach FLT training is accredited through the National Plant Operators Registration Scheme (NPORS) or Association of Industrial Truck Trainers (AITT).

Both machines are commonly found in warehouse-type environments due to their versatility and capability for load handling applications, but can also be used for other specific applications.

There are a number of variations which are determined by the machine’s capacity or maximum lift height. For Counterbalance machines, the variations are B1, B2 and B3 for 0-5t, 5-15t and above 15t capacity respectively. Reach trucks fall under D1 (up to 8m lift height) or D2 (above 8m lift height).

Training ranges from a single day for refreshers, through to five days for a novice course. The number of candidates can affect the overall duration, but courses are limited to a maximum of three candidates as per the Approved Code of Practice (ACOP) L117 for Rider Operated Lift Trucks.

Both machine types also have Pedestrian operated versions which we are also able to offer training for.

Training can take place at our Plymouth centre, or at any suitable facility in the UK! Our experienced trainers will provide the knowledge, training and guidance to give candidates the best chance of success.
