Do you hold a “Trained Operator” (red) card for plant or lifting categories?
If so, you’ll need to complete a Level 2 NVQ to upgrade to a “Competent Operator” (blue) card within the two-year validity period of your red card.
The process for this involves enrolling on the appropriate qualification and working with a qualified Assessor to build a portfolio of evidence to show that you can meet the necessary requirements of the NVQ. This will involve obtaining pictures and video of your work on site, professional discussions with the assessor, witness testimonies from your supervisors and colleagues and so on.
Once you have met the required standard, you’ll benefit from a qualification that lasts a lifetime!
Looking for multiple NVQs?
If you hold operator certificates for multiple categories (e.g. Excavator & Dumper), you can work towards multiple qualifications simultaneously. By doing this, you’ll avoid having to duplicate certain modules and boost your employability as a multi-skilled operative!
